Tanya Brown, M.A., is the School Counselor at The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (PSD) for the ENGAGE program, and a Parent Educator for the Office of Admission and Educational Outreach in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to PSD, Tanya held positions as a psychotherapist, program coordinator and research associate at the Deafness and Family Communications Center at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Regional Coordinator of Adult Mental Health Services serving 9 counties in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Her role the past ten years includes Program Coordinator of Alternative Programs and Behavioral Lead for Deaf students identified with additional academic programming needs. The scope of her experience includes individual, group and family therapy, parent education, abuse prevention and family wellness, program management and research, consultation and training, and behavioral assessment and intervention. Areas of present professional concentration include School Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis for Special Education, Play Therapy, and Parent Education.  Tanya holds a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Gallaudet University.  She completed postgraduate studies in Applied Behavioral Analysis at Penn State University and is pursuing certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
